About Me!

Hey! I’m Becca and this is my site where I write band recommendations. This whole site was started simply cause I was getting tired of friends asking me what bands they should listen to and what music they should buy. I never imagined people would read it and it had never crossed my mind that this was such a great way to get to talk to so many awesome people! Sure, there are albums that I don’t like, but I find it’s best to just not write about it rather than to write a negative review. There’s no point in wasting readers’ time by talking about how shitty a band is. If you ever have any requests for a write up, want to comment on something, or just want to talk about music in general, hit me up! I love talking to new people (and the old). I bite, but it’s the internet, so what’s the worst that can happen?! ;)

Forever The Sickest Kids- Underdog Alma Mater

Fans of All Time Low, look no further for a new band to listen to. Forever The Sickest Kids were on this years AP tour with All Time Low, The Rocket Summer, The Matches, and Sonny. I was lucky enough to see them on this years Warped Tour. They played the Ernie Ball Stage, and in my opinion, deserved to be playing on a much bigger one. The crowd was so energetic and there was barely enough room for everyone. Underdog Alma Mater will have you jumping and singing along to pretty much every song. Even their slower song, Coffee Break is incredible. And don't just download the album, cause when you buy the CD, you get two bonus tracks [Give and Take (Remix) & Hurricane Haley]. And keep checking their myspace cause they just announced that She's A Lady will be their new single.

Charlotte Sometimes- Waves And The Both Of Us

One of the biggest reasons why I'm writing this, is because of her live performance. Yea, I knew it was gonna be good, but I had no idea it was gonna be THAT good. The way she interacted with the crowd and her band was incredible. Everything about it, was planned... but not too planned out so that it was corny. And omfg, who knew she could belt notes like that live?! Even if you don't have the chance to see her live, Waves And The Both Of Us is still a great album. Cause she makes songs about taking clothes off and touching each other... cute.

Chiodos

So, let's say you get just a little tired of your pop-punk and wanna listen to a really good hardcore band. Yea, I don't really listen to hardcore... but, Chiodos is such an exception! Both All's Well That Ends Well and Bone Palace Ballet are incredible albums. Come on, how many hardcore bands can you think of that quote Shakuhhhhspeare? The piano melodies could impress anyone and Craig Owens' voice could kill anyone. The high notes he's able to belt are by far one of the most amazing things I've ever heard. Owens is one of my fav singers, which is a pretty big deal. Cause I'm picky when it comes to vocals. (He's up there with Hayley Williams and just a few others.)

The Audition- Champion

Fucking CATCHY pop-punk album. And I can't listen to music with bad vocals, so lead singer Danny, won't dissapoint you. His voice is unique, but pleasant to listen to. Personally, my fav track is currently Hell To Sell. There isn't a single song you'll skip. Once again, fucking catchy.

All Time Low- So Wrong, It's Right

Um. This is basically, the best pop-punk band out there now. Pretty much everyone's heard of them. This album came out back in September, but it still has me talking about it! They are without a doubt one of my fav live bands. They really are the most entertaining band to watch.

Scenes And Sirens- The South Will Dance Again

Yea, I've been listening to this album non-stop. Scenes and Sirens were in AP last issue, so I checked them out on myspace and pretty much fell in love. I got excited as hell when I saw that they were going on tour with one of the best local LI bands... STEREO SKYLINE. (btw. Stereo Skyline's EP is finally done! I waited sooo long for this!) I bought The South Will Dance Again from them at Warped Tour when they asked if I wanted to listen to their band. Anyway this album makes me want to dance. Like, you don't even know. If you like music you can dance to, check out SCENES AND SIRENS!

Must have

Every single person should have Envy On The Coast's debut album, Lucy Gray. It's a year old now, but it's still amazing. They're awesome boys and incredible live. Another band that's a must have, is The Hush Sound. I like their newest album, Goodbye Blues, but come on. It's hard to beat Like Vines. I'll try to keep posting other bands as much as possible.
